House of Cards Spinoffs May Happen at Netflix

Earlier today, it was announced that the Netflix series House of Cards would be ending after its sixth season. That may not be all we see from the series, however. According to Variety, there are House of Cards spinoffs in the works. Netflix and producer Media Rights Capital are reportedly in early development on a number of House of Cards spinoffs, including one involving Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) that has Eric Roth as a writer. Roth was an executive producer on the show for the first four seasons. There are two other spinoff ideas that are being looked at as well. Neither Netflix or Media Rights Capital have commented.

Actor thinks he was misled by TB Joshua

Jim Iyke appears to be having a rethink about what happened when he took his mother to The Synagogue Church headed by Prophet T.B. Joshua.

In a recent interview with Guardian TV, the very vibrant Nollywood actor gave a detailed explanation of what went down when he took his mother for healing at the church. He said he was ready to do anything to get his mother back on her feets.
"At that point truthfully, if they told me that there was any cure in hell, I would have gone, you are talking about your mother you know. So I went, I remember I went there with my security, my sister, and my personal assistant. When we got there, there was a constant insistence that I come to church and I said to them, that wasn't the arrangement because the plan was to come...we brought her by air we kept her at a hospital nearby" said Jim Iyke.
"So the understanding was that you lay your hands on her for her to get better but they said No! you must come to church, their insistence forced me to go to the church...and I was there when the whole thing about touching people, I found it a little laughable seeing it on national tv...i remember my sister pinching me telling me to stop," he further said.

Ex-President asks Metuh for N1b to appear as witness in fraud trial

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has asked former National Publicity Secretary of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh to pay him the sum of N1 billion to enable him appear as a defence witness in his money laundering trial.

In an application filed before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, October 30, 2017, the former president argued that the money will be used to cover travelling expenses for himself and his security personnel, from Bayelsa State where he resides. He argued that failure to provide the money means he'll refuse to appear before the court as provided by the constitution.
His application is in response to a subpoena filed by Metuh's lawyer, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), requiring the former president to appear as a witness in the ongoing trial.
Justice Abang signed the request on Monday, October 23, and required the presence of the former president at the hearing two days later but he failed to appear because he had not been served the notice by the court's bailiff.
In his application on Monday, Jonathan's first prayer to the court sought to set aside the subpoena as he argued that he had no direct link to Metuh and has no knowledge of the charges the defendant is facing.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting Metuh and his company, Destra Investments Limited, on a seven-count charge bordering on fraud and money laundering.

Martial helps United sink Spurs

Substitute Anthony Martial's 81st minute strike gave Manchester United a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday to keep them in touch with Premier League leaders Manchester City.
After last week's surprise defeat at Huddersfield Town, Jose Mourinho's team could ill afford another slip-up but they found it hard to break down a resilient Spurs defence.
Tottenham, without their top scorer Harry Kane who was ruled out with a hamstring injury, could have gone in front themselves in the 76th minute when Christian Eriksen threaded a superb ball towards Dele Alli but the England midfielder's effort went the wrong side of the post.
After Romelu Lukaku headed a Jesse Lingard cross against the post, United finally broke through and it was in direct fashion. A long ball from keeper David De Gea was flicked on by Lukaku into the path of the on-running Martial and the Frenchman confidently slotted past Hugo Lloris.
United move on to 23 points, two behind leaders City who are at West Bromwich Albion later on Saturday, while third-placed Spurs are on 20.

Ronaldo still 'The Best' for Zidane

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane insisted Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to win Fifa's 'The Best' award for 2017 despite his faltering La Liga form so far this season.
Ronaldo missed Real's first four La Liga games through suspension, but has managed just one goal in the last five and was wasteful once more in front of goal as Madrid eased past Eibar 3-0 on Sunday.
"He is the best by a long way," said Zidane when asked if Ronaldo was the best player of his generation.
The Portuguese is expected to edge out Barcelona rival Lionel Messi to the award thanks to his stunning end to last season.
Ronaldo scored 10 times from the quarterfinals of the Champions League on as Real won a first La Liga and European Cup double in 59 years.
However, Messi has already scored 15 times in all competitions for Barca this season and netted a stunning hat-trick to ensure Argentina didn't miss out on next year's World Cup against Ecuador earlier this month.

"He has shown it many times, he is always there in the big games," added Zidane.
"All the awards are deserved because he always wants to be the best and he is."
Zidane also defended compatriot Karim Benzema after former England striker and TV presenter Gary Lineker described the Frenchman as "overrated."
Lineker's comments came as Benzema missed two huge chances as Real were held 1-1 at home by Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.
"He can have his opinion because he is on television a lot, but if you say to me Karim is overrated I don't agree," said Zidane.
"I enjoy watching him on the field."
After Paulo Oliveira's own goal and Marco Asensio's strike put Madrid in command on Sunday, Benzema came off the bench to tee up Real's third for Marcelo.
"Brilliant assist from Benzema. With his sort of quality it's hard to understand why Zidane left him out of the starting line-up," Lineker responded wryly to the attention his comments have garnered in Spain in recent days.
However, Zidane repeated his defence of Benzema's style from his pre-match press conference.
"Karim won't score 60 goals a season, but he will score 25 or 30 and make 30-40," Zidane said on Saturday.
And that point was perfectly evidenced by Benzema's defence splitting pass for Marcelo to fire into the far corner.
"I like players who know how to associate with their teammates," continued Zidane.
"He didn't score, but the move starts with him in midfield.

"It was a lovely move to see for anyone who likes football."
