Spider-Man: Homecoming earned another $15.2 million in its fifth day of domestic play. That’s a solid 24% rise from Monday’s $12.2m gross and brings the $175m-budgeted film’s five-day total to $144.2m. So, for what it’s worth, the film has made five days about what The Amazing Spider-Man made it is first seven days (not adjusted for inflation). That’s close enough to the 29-30% jumps seen by Minions (which opened at $115m) and Secret Life of Pets (which snagged $104m on its first Fri-Sun last year) on this very same frame to qualify as encouraging.
